- When first started, the punch clock is connected to a network with DHCP (later the punch clock can be configured for a static IP address).
- When started, the punch clock’s IP address (ex 192.168.1.234) is displayed for about 30 seconds, take a photo or save this.
- Open a web browser, ex Chrome, on a computer connected to the same network as the punch clock.
- Enter the punch clock’s IP address in the address bar, enter only the numbers without any additions before or after.
- A login page is displayed, fill in “admin” as the user and “admin” as the password, press “Login”.
- In the left menu, press “Device url”.
- Under the heading “Url” fill in the ClockUrl that the T&A system has provided.
Check if you have a power adapter of the brand “RND Power”. (On the back of the power adapter.) If so, it is most likely the source of the fault. If you have a similar punch clock nearby, you can verify the fault yourself by testing with the other punch clock’s power adapter to see if the problem disappears.
Contact Brightec Time to obtain/order a new power adapter.
The reader beeps when you scan a tag but nothing happens on the screen?
- Check if you have a power adapter of the brand “RND Power”.
(On the back of the power adapter.) If so, it is most likely the source of the fault.

The punch clock is waiting to receive an IP address from the network’s DHCP server.
- Check that the network cable is properly inserted into the time clock.
- Also check that the network socket in the building is working and is connected to a DHCP server for automatic IP address distribution.

- 400 – Employee id is invalid – The employeeId does not exist or the user is no longer active. Please verify the specified user.
- 401 – Unauthorized – The app credentials are not sufficient. Please ensure to exchange the refresh token with and Access token or verify that the user who authorised the application is active.
- 403 – Your application isn’t assigned to the appropriate scope, so it can’t perform this action – Please verify that your application has the right scopes in order to make this request.
- 404 – Employee with given id doesn’t exist – This user does not exist. Please verify employeeId and try again.
- 409 – Conflict – A validation error occurred in your request data.
- 429 – Too many requests – You’ve passed the rate limit for the allowed number of API requests.
- 500 – Server error – Internal server error, Please inform our API support team.

- Check that there is power in the wall outlet.
- If you have a similar time clock, try changing the power adapter to rule out a broken power adapter.
- If the power adapter is broken, contact Brightec Time to obtain/order a new power adapter.
- If there is no possibility to try changing the power adapter or it appears to be working normally. Download our RMA form, follow the instructions and send the punch clock to Brightec for troubleshooting/repair.

If there is no possibility to change the power adapter, or it turns out to be working – download our RMA form , follow the instructions and send the time clock in for troubleshooting/repair.
The RFID reader is broken and needs to be replaced, contact Brightec Time.
- It is likely that the tag is not compatible with the reader. The tag may also be broken. Test the tag on another time clock or on the administrator’s desk reader if available.
- Contact Brightec Time for further support
- Check the reader by opening “Wordpad” on the punch clock and scan a tag, if a 10 or 14 digit number appears, the reader is working correctly. Restart the browser and test again.
- If no number appears in “Wordpad”, try moving the RFID reader connector to another USB port at the bottom of the punch clock.
- If none of the above helps, the reader is probably broken. Contact our support.
Check that the reader’s USB connector is connected to one of the punch clock’s USB ports.
By following this guide you can start Chrome automatically at the punch clock startup in so-called Kiosk mode, which means that the page cannot be closed, changed or left via the touch screen.
To close exit kiosk mode, a keyboard needs to be connected to the USB port and then press ALT+F4.
When the punch clock is delivered, there is only one user account “admin” with password “password”.
We recommend that the password is changed during installation and noted so that subsequent personnel have access to it years later.
